Hermeneutics

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. - 2 Timothy 2:15

At the heart of our hermeneutics is this basic assumption—when God revealed truth, He intended to communicate to us. He used the normal conventions of human language common to the people and time when His revelation came. - John MacArthur

When you do not take the time to discern the literal meaning, you are not serving Scripture by trying to understand it, then you are making Scripture your slave by molding it into whatever you want it to say. - John MacArthur

How Does God Communicate With Us?
The Bible is how God chose to communicate with us and it is without error (2 Tim 3:16, Titus 1:2). What use is there in having an inspired Bible if we cannot get an objective meaning out of it? How else would we know what God's will is?
